Portugal Fashion Day 1

Saturday was Portugal Fashion’s kick off in Lisbon. If you saw my instagram, you know the shows were breathtaking. Storytailors, Alexandra Moura and Carlos Gil were some of my favourite shows and I’m curious to see what’s to come for next week.

In the meantime, let’s look back to these collections.

STORYTAILORS

A “gender fluid” collection. The designer duo takes another lunge forward and we see men wearing long dresses, clearly stating that the gender barriers are ever so thinner and that everyone should dress however they like.

ALEXANDRA MOURA

Chess pattern trench coats were the big highlight of this collection. Furthermore, fluid dresses with various layers were also a key component of a collection inspired by iconic movies such as E.T and Blade Runner.

SUSANA BETTENCOURT

Knitting and corduroy were the key materials for a collection where marked by an insightful critique into robots and the digital society.

PEDRO PEDRO

Feminism and Women Empowerment set the tone for a collection rich in asymmetry and oversized pieces.

ALVES/GONÇALVES

Over the knee boots and neon colors brings night life to our minds. Manuel Alves and José Manuel Gonçalves never fail in their execution, and with each collection they bring us to a parallel and imaginary world.

CARLOS GIL

Sophistication and comfort are the most relevant words to describe this collection. A perfect balance between cold and warm colours.
